Die dreizehnjährige Alexandra Mack ist ein ganz normales Mädchen, das mit ihren Eltern Barbara und George in Hidden View Valley lebt. Das Wohngebiet ist für die Mitarbeiter der Chemiefabrik Atron Inc., gebaut worden. Eines Tages wird Alex in einen Unfall mit einem Lastwagen verwickelt und kommt dabei mit einer geheimnisvollen Chemikalie in Berührung.
