Yabushige glaubt, in seinen Reihen einen Spion ausgemacht zu haben. Parallel wird in Osaka über das Machtvakuum diskutiert. |

Einige von Toranaga's Gegnern wollen dem Plan von Hauptverschwörer Ishido Kazunari nur unter einer Bedingung zustimmen. Yabushige und seine Männer greifen ein. Toranaga erfährt von den Absichten der Portugiesen. |
